standing question: what is the reality in which you function? My reality: Here I am, you are, and so are the rest of you 6 Billion and growing. How are we all doing? How can I help?

this is fucking bullshit
let us please have a show of hands, is this fucking bullshit or what?
Are we really just going to sit here while this trend continues? How bad does it have to get?
i know. it's so awful--i don't much like reading these things anymore. it is as it is. for starters, i'd like to see employees of every single employer, big and small, (those that are non-union that is) gather together and refuse to work for one more second until they are receiving a living wage (as defined for their particular area) and benefits--plus receiving their fair share of the wealth depending upon profit. put an end to slavery. not tomorrow. not next week. but now.
i don't know. the current system sucks and i also wish to see people give the finger to the system and gather with other like-minded individuals and form their own communities--based on their own value(s) system. people pooling their resources, talents, gifts, that sort of thing. small pods of people. that has been a vision of mine for about 10 years now.
i have come to accept is that those at the top aren't going to give up any of their wealth--certainly not without a fight. and honest to god, who wants to fight? i certainly don't (anymore). that's why i lean towards saying fine, you can have things your way. i'm gonna go off with these folks and we're gonna create a way that works for us. but so far, most people seem to want to fight or talk about ways to change things as they are.
with persistance, some luck and a lot of support, self-employment is one way to garner more control over ones income. and there can be something to letting go of the desire for financial prosperity, at least the american version.
don't really have answers. just rambling thoughts that these days are clouded with fatigue.
There are efforts going on here in town. The Hour Trader, Coho intentional community. I agree, we should be moving in these directions, creating real alternatives is certainly a challenge.
I know all about burn out. I just recognize it as a wave, a cyclical pattern and recognize it when it happens. Even now, I'm pretty depressed. I've been reading some of Steve Pavlina and a Buddhist book on Vipassana meditation. Pavlina is interesting, you might be interested in his recognition of psychic phenomena.
Spiritbear, we needed you at the forum the last couple weeks. Many of the Christian kids who have some kind of dance project were stopping by the forum. I really wished you were there.
